Celebrating 20 Years of Service!

Posted on: January 16, 2023
Jag's 20th Anniversary

We are excited to announce a year of celebrations in connection with twenty years of service in the Greater Cincinnati region since first greeting guests in West Chester on January 18, 2003.

To mark our platinum anniversary, we've planned a year of unique promotions and experiences as a thank you to our guests, staff and community partners for their role in establishing Jag's as a regional destination for elevated and innovative cuisine.

Our History

Chef Proprietor and majority owner, Michelle Brown, has been at the forefront of leading and evolving Jag’s to consistently meet guest expectations and anticipate upcoming trends in the dining industry.

“Big ideas last when they are grounded by core values,” said Brown. “From the beginning, our vision for Jag’s has been tightly connected with community service, mentorship and education.”

In 2002, Brown was approached by John Allgaier about an idea to bring an upscale dining and entertainment venue, merging classic steakhouse dishes and new, contemporary options, north of I-275 into a growing community in West Chester. Allgaier, who created the original concept, design and name for Jag’s, tasked Brown with the creation of the ambitious new menu.

“At the time, Butler County was undergoing a massive transformation into a shopping and entertainment destination due to important community and employer investments, particularly in West Chester Township” said Brown. “As our community grew together, we saw an opportunity to provide residents a first-class venue they can proudly call their own for dining and hosting special celebrations.”

In 2015, Brown’s career reached new heights when she became the majority owner of the restaurant. Brown ushered in a lively new era at Jag’s, adding her own touch to the restaurant’s decor, private dining offerings and entertainment lineup.

Today, Brown uses the knowledge she’s gained over the years to help mentor other female culinary students at Jag’s.

“Being a chef, regardless if you’re male or female, takes time and dedication to be good,” said Brown. “It can be a hard thing for anyone to balance. For young women, it is especially important that I show them that you can be successful and have a great family life.”

Brown’s investment in local individuals extends far beyond the staff at Jag’s. As COVID-19 caused uncertainty within the food service industry, Jag’s donated food to first responders, raised funds for local foodbanks including Freestore Foodbank and Shared Harvest, and supported Boys and Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty programs and resources through fundraising events and an educational session to teach local youth about careers in the culinary arts.

We take seriously our role as a focal point for our community to connect, collaborate, and celebrate countless achievements,” said Brown. “Jag’s legacy will remain tied to our responsibility to support the people, resources and opportunities that will shape our community’s bright future.”
